What is a Death Café?
A Death Café is not a bereavement group but offers an opportunity to talk about death in relaxed and comfortable surroundings. With support, we can learn to acknowledge our own mortality, which in turn enriches our daily lives. At a Death Café we also laugh a lot – respectfully of course
Cake is very much a part of the experience and can be purchased and enjoyed in safe and friendly surroundings at Pretty Things.
The Death Café is hosted by – Jean Francis. Jean is an Interfaith Minister and author. Her work on pre-need funeral planning won her the ‘Most Significant Contribution to the Understanding of Death’ award at the Good Funerals Awards 2013.
Jean writes and conducts ceremonies that honour all faiths or none at all, to grace occasions that mark the milestones of life. She lives in Horsham, West Sussex and is organiser of Horsham’s Circle of Life Festival. Jean can be contacted on: 01403 273754
