Kid’s Green Play and Display

Friday June 3rd.

A fun filled afternoon for children, led by BBC Community Heroes 2015 award winner Carrie Cort from Sussex Green Living, which aims to educate and inspire children about the value of waste resources. Activities include:

  • Guinness Book of Records challenge
  • Meet recycled robots: Landfill Larry, Ronny the Recycled Robot.
  • Do the recycling race – Battle of the Eco Warriors!
  • Children and adults will have fun with a fashion display of upcycled clothes, accessories and bags made out of what some people call rubbish!
  • Bring unwanted DVDs, CDs and books to our Swap Shop, bring one and take one
  • Ron from the WSCC Waste Prevention team will play his guitar and sing ‘rubbish songs’.
  • Lyn Baylis will lead a short ceremony
  • Bring along a picnic and make an afternoon of it.
  • Children must be accompanied

The Healing Power of Sound

Thursday 2nd June – 7 pm – 8.30 pm

Sound has many healing properties. Join us to experience the benefits and delight in listening to music on a deep and healing level with Christopher Snelling.

Be bathed by the unique combination of sounds played by Gillian Ellis, on crystal bowls, gongs and a selection of musical instruments.

Listen and feel the resonance of organ music and complete the experience to further demonstrate the value and beauty of sound, embodied in this empowering way.

The Near-Death Experience

Martin draws on is his own personal near-death encounters as well as presenting some of the findings of recent research. These confirm the validity of ancient teachings about the soul’s journey into wholeness.

into which we are born

Three bodies – physical, subtle and spiritual.

Most people are only ever aware of their physical body

 Meditation – enables us to access our undying nature, the eternal Self,

Teenage Textile Creations – Upcycling Workshop

This workshop is a great opportunity for teenagers to exercise their imagination and creative skills whilst learning the art of textile upcycling. During the session we will discover the power of our own uniqueness and dispel the myth that beauty is purchased through fashion. This workshop is run by Carrie from Sussex Green Living and helpers.

Come, Walk With Us

Walking Life’s Path – 3 pm – 4 pm

The labyrinth walk is a metaphor for the journey to the centre of your deepest self and back. It is a path of quiet reflection, a walking meditation, led by Felice Rhiannon who is a certified facilitator and our guide in the journey to the centre and back again. Shoes are not allowed on the canvas, bare feet or socks are perfect. Not suitable for children under 10 years. Meet at North Heath Hall, St Marks Lane, Horsham, RH12 5PU. Riverside Path; Mindful Walk

Start time: 4 pm     Until: 5 pm.

This walk will complement the Labyrinth walk as participants expand into the outdoors, along the Riverside Path for a guided mindful walk. Our purpose is to try to be in the present moment and to let go of anxieties and worries. This walk led by Jill Shuker, former, Horsham Healthy Walks Leader will also be gentle and relaxed. This walk is wheel chair, pushchair and dog friendly. Meet at North Heath Hall, St Mark’s Lane, Horsham, RH12 5PU. Free event.

Celebrating Later Life in partnership with Age UK Horsham District. The Festival will be opened by Cllr Kate Rowbottom with a ceremony led by Jean Francis to honour elders in our community. Join us for music, song and story-telling to feed the soul; songsmith and vocalist Razia Aziz, story-teller Chris Corps and the Brighton and Hove Interfaith Choir.

Tickets £11 or if you are 65 or over come along for just £5.00

The closing celebration, in partnership with Cancer Research includes a healing ceremony led by Nickie Allan and Neil Giddins, with Judith Silver and the harmonious tones of Companion Voices. An opportunity for those touched by loss, to remember loved ones during a candle lighting ceremony and celebrate LIFE.
The Festival culminates on a high with a pop / rock set as Chilli Custard presents Razia and Friends.
